Fire Warden (with extinguishers)

 

Course Overview

This course is designed for people assigned the role of wardens in their workplace. These may include building wardens, fire safety officers of OH&S officers.

This accredited course is delivered by the Melbourne Fire Brigade (MFB) and is structured in accordance with Australian Standards:

  • Emergency Control Organisation and Procedures in Buildings (AS 3745 - 2002)
  • Emergency Response for Health Care Facilities (AS 4083 - 1997)

The course consists of theoretical and practical classes and the following content will be covered:

  • fire awareness in your workplace
  • practical Fire Extinguisher training
  • identifying various fire protection equipment in buildings
  • the wardens role and responsibilities
  • evacuation procedures
  • identification of the various types of extinguishers and hose reels on the premises
  • the practical application of the extinguishers in a real fire situation
