Fire Warden (with extinguishers)
Course Overview
This course is designed for people assigned the role of wardens in their workplace. These may include building wardens, fire safety officers of OH&S officers.
This accredited course is delivered by the Melbourne Fire Brigade (MFB) and is structured in accordance with Australian Standards:
- Emergency Control Organisation and Procedures in Buildings (AS 3745 - 2002)
- Emergency Response for Health Care Facilities (AS 4083 - 1997)
The course consists of theoretical and practical classes and the following content will be covered:
- fire awareness in your workplace
- practical Fire Extinguisher training
- identifying various fire protection equipment in buildings
- the wardens role and responsibilities
- evacuation procedures
- identification of the various types of extinguishers and hose reels on the premises
- the practical application of the extinguishers in a real fire situation
