Pool Operations Course
Course Overview
This program enables learners to operate and maintain swimming pools, spas, water slides and hydrotherapy pools. It meets the criteria enforced by the Department of Human Services and public and environmental health departments in all States of Australia. The course is also endorsed and supported by the Victorian Health Department and is run out of Sports House and the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC) in Albert Park.
It is ideal for managers and staff responsible for the maintenance of any:
- public pools
- hydro pools and spas
- pools and spas located in hotels, apartments, retirement, aged care and health facilities
Pool lifeguards and swimming teachers who want to broaden their skills and knowledge will also benefit from attending this course.
Upon successful completion of the required assessment participants will receive a Statement of Attainment from MSAC Institute of Training for the following units:
SRCAQU001B Monitor Pool Water Quality
SRCAQU002B Operate Aquatic Facility Plant & Equipment
SRCAQU004B Maintain Pool Water Quality
SRXOHS001B Follow defined occupational health & safety procedures related to the work being undertaken
