Pool Lifeguard Update

 

 

This program aims to teach you emergency rescue techniques, swimming skills and basic spinal management techniques as well as the finer points of pool lifeguarding. Candidates of this program will receive comprehensive training in aquatic emergency care, basic first aid, emergency management, oxygen resuscitation, introductory pool operations and pool surveillance.

Successful candidates will have the skills and knowledge required to supervise swimming pool users. 

The course is provided in partnership between MSAC Institute of Training - RTO # 21761and Life Saving Victoria RTO # 21799. It is delivered and assessed by MSAC Institute of Training under license agreement with Lifesaving Victoria who enrol and certify the students.

Pool Lifeguard Award must be updated annually if used as a professional qualification.

Reaccreditation courses are designed for those who have already completed the full course and their award is due to expire.

The Pool Lifeguard qualification must be updated annually to continue working in the industry and the Senior First Aid Level 2 must be updated every 3 years.

At the MSAC Institute of Training we deliver update courses taught by Life Saving Victoria (LSV). All courses are held at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre (MSAC).
