Versatile SportsFutures Program - Josh Flipp Yachting Victoria
Josh Flipp commenced a Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation with the MSAC Institute of Training (MIT) as a joint initiative with Yachting Victoria in March 2010 as part of the MIT SportsFutures program.
The intention of this program is to incorporate Josh’s work as the Head Instructor at The Boatshed in Albert Park with a formal qualification consisting of both on and off the job training to assist in granting him the skills to further develop as a yachting professional. To coincide with the work Josh is doing on the “Tackers’ junior sailing program and maintenance work on the boats and in the yard at the Boatshed, MIT has designed a specific curriculum incorporating units such as planning and preparing individualised training programs and minimising waste and pollution and their environmental impact.
By customising a flexible program to meet the needs of both Josh and Yachting Victoria, Josh will be able to continue his studies whilst travelling to Canada in late 2010 to assist with yachting development programs run internationally.MIT wishes Josh the very best with his studies and career development.
